This is clever, brilliant even and also funny. I suspected some level of AI intervention but I think the way you have integrated it with what is clearly real writing is very effective. The sub themes of consent and conditioning are intelligently explored, inevitably McEwans Machines Like Me comes to mind. More than anything you write well, the erotic content sitting comfortably side by side with the characters and the plot rather than leading or dominating. I hope there will be more from Celeste.
Thank you! I had to stop myself from editing out the obvious AI-isms, because I wanted it to be visible to careful readers before the disclosure at the end, and to put readers in that uncanny valley space whenever Celeste/Chibi-C are speaking, whether directly or via the diagnostic messages.
Because of that, it’s a risky piece, and that’s why I had to wait till now to publish it, when I have built up a body of work (the rest of which is all 100% me, in case it needs to be said), for readers to trust that I am a writer with integrity. Otherwise I’m just going to end up being dismissed as “writer who uses AI”.
There will inevitably be some who are entirely against the use of AI at all, but I’m hoping that most will see that this was a deliberate artistic choice and consider it from that angle.

The great thing about reading your work is that I never quite know what to expect. That is part of the art of great story telling. The subject and style of the story suits the use of some AI intervention perfectly. I think the deliberate artistic choice to use it, especially as the AI generated parts are edited and integrated with an engaging and beautifully constructed, human generated story is justified.
I’m also pleased you think that the use of AI here was justified. I don’t regret doing it, and am actually pretty proud of it, but I’m not sure I’ll be doing it very often in the future or even at all, even for Celeste stories. I thought this was fantastic. It was sexy, hilarious, thought provoking, and I like the idea of using AI to write some of the AI parts.
